Support the CPI CPCS Job Control System Team to further develop and maintain the CPI Job control system which has been in production for 8 years. The web application runs under BEA Weblogic and uses Java application code as well as a commercial job scheduler kernel. The application is currently being converted from using a Sybase DBMS to using Oracle. There is a backlog of system improvements that the team would like to make, some of them substantial. In terms of user support, there is a need for the applicant to perform production monitoring as well as carry out requests from users to enter new jobs into the system. Will play an important role in the development of new releases and in platform upgrades.
Required Education: Bachelors Degree
Required Skills:
* Good understanding of Infrastructures/Platforms. * StrongJava develpment skills. * Testing experience both as a tester and in supporting testers. * Experience designing and executing test plans. * Ability to take a leadership role on an assignment from requirements gathering through analysis, design and implementation. May assist in training\directing junior employees. * Knowledge of SQL and PL/SPL and good familiarity with relational databases Sybase or Oracle. * Web Administrator experience including deploying applications (BEA WebLogic preferred) andconfiguring servers (a plus). * Quick detective work and decision making abilities to resolve production problems. * Care in dealing with the production system and knowledge of CM tools and practices to assist in this carefulness. * Familiar with build process for Web ferred Skills:
* Experience with new application software releases and new vendor software releases. * J2EE certification. * Ability to monitor multiple application instances simultaneously. * Software development Life-Cycle skills including knowledge of Web application design models. * Education that includes knowledge of class modeling and UML. * Work experience in this area desirable.
