--- Software Engineers
General Requirements: Analyze and study complex system requirements. Design software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses, as well as manage their implementation. This labor category is able to translate detailed design requirements into computer software. Implement COTS packages. Test, debug, and refine the computer software to produce the required product. Prepare required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation. Enhance software to reduce operating time or improve mission efficiency. Provide technical guidance in software engineering techniques and automated support tools.
Specific Requirements: The focus of the position(s) is on data analysis. The position will work on the TO17 Initiate team in McLean on a daily basis. Software Engineers-Embedded Technologists must have hands-on development experience with COTS integration and scripting languages, such as Korn Shell, Perl and Python. Database experience, including SQL and simple modeling is required. Data analysis and data warehousing knowledge is required. Experience with transformation and ingestion of structured and unstructured data sources is required. Familiarity with data disambiguation tools, such as Initiate and/or Wareman and data extraction tools is preferred. Experience with customer data sets and enterprise applications is a plus. Some JAVA development experience desired.
This position requires direct interface with the customer on a daily basis. Communication skills and self-initiative are required. This position requires a skilled software engineer, who has the ability to work interface with technologists, analysts and the customer. The position requires adaptability, the drive to work in a high pace environment and someone who enjoys a challenge.
