Software QA EngineerTitle: Software QA Engineer Location: United States-California - Fremont Other Locations:
This position is for a test engineer to join the 3PAR-HP SQA group within HP Storage. Responsibilities include creating and executing tests that stress all aspects of the InServ feature set, documenting test cases insomuch that they can be executed by other team members, identifying areas of improvement, mentoring junior personnel, reviewing test plans, and evaluating customer facing documentation for technical accuracy and comprehensiveness. Assigned area of ownership will center around minimum and maximum configuration system testing of the InServ Storage Server against currently shipping software releases and hardware platforms.
The successful candidate should be adept at tuning and troubleshooting complex systems, and possess the skills to drive issues to root cause. Must be an energetic team player adept at multitasking. Must be flexible with a commitment to delivering on schedule a high quality product.
Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. May provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies.
Education and Experience Required:
Typically a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 plus year's related experience or Master's degree and a minimum of 4-6 plus years experience.

Technical Breadth/Depth Experience writing complex system level test plans, test cases and test reports Must have excellent analytical skills and be able to debug complex system problems Experience working with Linux; debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting White or Grey box test experience FC, iSCSI, FCoE and SCSI knowledge Solid Scripting Skills in Perl, Shell, Expect, or TCL Experience with virtual server technology such as VMware ESX, MS Hypver-V, etc. Exceptional understanding of Enterprise Storage Systems
