Job Description:
This position is primarily a customer-engagement based software architecture position that requires advanced technical, organizational, leadership and communication skills. The Solutions Architect is responsible for architecting, designing and developing internet based on-line banking and mobile applications, based on Fiserv’s product set. The Solution Architect will frequently work in close collaboration with clients, project managers and software developers. The Solution Architect will participate in reviewing existing solutions and providing recommendations for extensions and customizations. The Solution Architect will also participate in training and practice improvement activities. In addition, the Solution Architect will provide and evangelize technical vision for the Professional Services (“PS”) group.
Under minimal supervision you will:
· Lead a team in the design, development, testing and support of software development project lifecycles.
· Contribute across the entire development cycle (analysis, design, code, test, initial pilot/production launch, and production support) with the primary focus on analysis, solution design and mentoring development staff.
· Perform complex product design activities which may require extensive research and analysis.
· Participate in product design meetings.
· Review and analyze existing online banking solutions and client requirements, and provide recommendations for extension and customization to team members and clients.
· Analyze, design, develop and debug web-enabled applications.
· Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions to the problems.
· Oversee unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits.
· Work closely with managers and directors in working with project teams.
· Manage the activities of team members.
· Review the work of team members.
· May be required to participate in limited software development (coding) activities at times.
· Lead or participate substantively in non-project based activities which strengthen the organization (e.g. training, development of coding standards, pioneering of new technologies and capabilities).
· Develop and maintain working relationships with other Fiserv business units which are key to the success of the PS organization (e.g., Product Management, Product Engineering, Product Support, etc.).
· Consult on issues faced when developing internet banking and mobile banking sites (e.g., scalability; security; user experience (best practices); Fiserv applications such as Consumer Banking, Small Business Banking, Cash Management, Wealth Management; etc.)
Requirements:
· Previous senior-level experience in designing and developing enterprise level internet e-commerce systems is required.
· Minimum of 8 years of software development experience with 5 of those years spent designing and developing internet e-commerce applications.
· Must have previous team lead and/or software architect experience.
· Financial services industry expertise required, with online or mobile banking experience strongly preferred.
· Must have experience developing and delivering technical training for software industry professionals.
· Experienced and C# developer
· Experienced in XML, XML Schemas, and Web Service technology
· Strong UI design and development experience
· Strong integration design and development experience
· Strong problem solving skills
· Previous experience working onsite at a customer location in a consulting capacity
· Experienced in conducting development activities using stringent source code control procedures.
· Experienced in developing estimates for design, development, and unit testing of application functionality for the engagement.
· Minimum of 4 years of project development / methodologies experience: full system development lifecycle, Agile, etc.
· Possess advanced written and oral communication skills for producing software design specifications and conducting JAD sessions with customers.
· Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
· Experienced in developing and documenting use cases using Rational software desired.
