Position Overview: Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Software Support Engineer to join their growing U.S. team. Your main responsibilities will be supporting customers via email, phone and webcasts. You will also guide customers and SEs in product installation, daily operations and troubleshooting.
Major Responsibilities: Support customers via email, phone and through webcasts
Guide customers and support engineers in product installation
Responsible for daily operations, troubleshooting, maintaining and updating product base
Introduce support methodologies and tools to benefit the client and team.
Work with the international headquarters based support center
Required Skills, knowledge and Abilities:
4 plus years previous experience in similar position, in a software company.
Experience with Linux/UNIX environments.
Experience in firewall administration/configuration (Checkpoint, Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc) .
Experience in support of network security software products.
Experience in Linux script languages (PERL, shell) – advantage.
Willingness to work at irregular hours, to support our customers world-wide.
Excellent interpersonal skills, problem-solver, results oriented, fast learner, organized and works well under pressure.
Excellent written skills and experience at making presentations ; Comfortable working in a multi cultural environment.
Ability and willingness to work from home and be independent, self motivating, self-learning and responsible with a can-do” approach. Ability and willingness to work alone with no local management support is A MUST.
Education: B.S in Engineering, Computer Science or Equivalent work experience.
Location: Northern CA/ or NY/NJ/ or Georgia
Territory and Travel: USA, 25% travel
Reports to: Support Manager
Compensation: . $85-95K Base + $10k MBO for on target business . Depends on experience and prior earnings. Plus benefits, including 401k, medical and dental benefits.
