Role Summary/Purpose As a Military and Civil Flight Management Systems Software Test Engineer, you will provide direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. In this role, you will:
Essential Responsibilities
* Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements
* Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
* Document and communicate results of technical data generated
* Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
* Share engineering information and promote open dialogue
* Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business
* Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
* Lead team towards integration and verification of FMS software in accordance with DO-178B guidelines
* Create new and maintain existing test procedures, test data, and traceability matrix to provide test
coverage for requirements based testing
* Perform formal software acceptance testing and generate an associated test report
Qualifications/Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Aeronautics / Aviation, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science
* Minimum of 5 additional years of experience in an engineering position

* Familiarity with DO-178B Certification Guidelines
* Familiarity with design, test and analysis tools and systems
* Experience with implementation and testing of IO using ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553B and Ethernet
* Aviation and Flight Management System familiarity
* Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Team player with strong interpersonal and leadership skills, capable of working within a diverse team across different time zones
* Effective time management and organizational skills; able to balance multiple priorities
* General MS Windows XP, MS Office 2003 Professional, DOORS and Dimensions experience
* Experience programming in ADA, Visual Basic, C#, C++, C or Java
* Experience with Structured and Object-Oriented Design and Programming
