In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. In this role, you will: Essential Responsibilities * Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements
* Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
* Document and communicate results of technical data generated
* Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
* Share engineering information and promote open dialogue
* Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business
* Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
* Lead team towards integration and verification of FMS software in accordance with DO-178B guidelines
* Create new and maintain existing test procedures, test data, and traceability matrix to provide test coverage for requirements based testing
* Perform formal software acceptance testing and generate an associated test report Qualifications/Requirements * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Aeronautics / Aviation, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science
* Minimum of 5 additional years of experience in an engineering position Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. * Familiarity with DO-178B Certification Guidelines
* Familiarity with design, test and analysis tools and systems
* Experience with implementation and testing of IO using ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553B and Ethernet
* Aviation and Flight Management System familiarity
* Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Team player with strong interpersonal and leadership skills, capable of working within a diverse team across different time zones
* Effective time management and organizational skills; able to balance multiple priorities
* General MS Windows XP, MS Office 2003 Professional, DOORS and Dimensions experience
* Experience programming in ADA, Visual Basic, C#, C++, C or Java
