The Dell Online Product Engineering Test Group is currently searching for an experienced testing professional to join the existing Dell Online testing team.
This individual will be expected to perform a variety of software testing and quality assurance tasks to ensure that the software product meets standards and end-user requirements, and to help drive the quality and stability of applications while simultaneously reducing the project delivery cycle time. The candidate must be able to work with and/or lead a virtual team of geographically diverse software testers, developers, PM's, and business analysts. * ยท BS in Computer Science/Engineering and 6 years experience OR MS in Computer Science/Engineering and 3 years * Have 4 years of software/application testing experience * Have proven track record on the ability to quickly gain detailed understanding of complex applications and their designs * Have working knowledge of relational database (Oracle and SQL Server) and be able to understand ERD * Be able to generate the correct set of data to test application * Ability to manage test defects and manage them to closure * Ability to create and manage test cases that fully test the requirements as well as the functionality of the applications * Have experience in creating automated test scripts using QTP and other related off-the-shelf tools * Have demonstrated ability to write test cases from the requirements, design docs, and codes * Have demonstrated ability to create and execute end-to-end test scenarios to emulate user interaction in the production environment * Have 1-4 years of software/application Development experience with passion for Software Testing * The candidate must be able to assimilate new information quickly and be able to provide effort estimates based on high-level assumptions. The ability to perform analysis on complex business requirements and software problems is required. * The ideal candidate will be process-oriented and results driven; will be able to partner productively in a cross-team environment with minimal supervision; and will be comfortable multi-tasking across numerous projects and tasks where flexibility may be required. They must be available to work occasional after-hours and weekend efforts in support of production implementations and emergency code fixes. Proficiency in time management, priority setting, and tradeoff negotiation is essential. Strong communications skills are required.
