Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Create and maintain database environments supporting production, implementation, training, development and related projects to include installing and configuring SQL Server, setting-up and modifying database security and performing complete rebases to update databases in the various environments. 2. Perform Transact-SQL (T-SQL) code reviews during key points of the system development life cycle (SDLC) and enforce compliance with T-SQL coding standards. 3. Work with internal constituents to understand business application change requirements and goals and aid development of scalable, available and high performance schema changes in the databases. 4. Perform occasional SQL code releases in conjunction with the release of application code updates and revision changes. 5. Responsible for the addition and deletion of user access according to databases security policy. 6. Responsible for contributing to and implementing enterprise-class database architectures across the organization. 7. Troubleshoot performance during development and QA testing and provide possible solutions and/or fixes. 8. Convert legacy data to SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) 9. Design and develop packages for Business Intelligence reporting. 10. Knowledge of business system applications, processes and process improvement. 11. Manage testing, troubleshooting and validating data integrity. 12. Manage master files to evaluate and correct invalid or outdated data. 13. Assist in the development and maintenance of system documentation. 14. Assist in the development and implementation of security policies consistent with the needs of a growing business. 15. Develop reporting as required. 16. Other various duties as necessary or assigned. Job Requirements :
Skills and Abilities Q Strong knowledge of SQL 2005 / 2008 administration and optimization Q Proficient with SQL Server Agent with the ability to create, schedule and troubleshoot jobs Q Proficient with back-ups, restores and replication Q Ability to tune poor performance queries Q Knowledgeable of DTS, BCP and SSIS with the ability to troubleshoot either as a standalone package or as a job Q Understanding of Best Practices for ETL across the Enterprise Q Fluency with appropriate tools including SQL Management Studio, Query Analyzer. Profiler, Performance Monitor and other SQL Server management tools as well as the entire Microsoft Suite Q Employee can be depended upon to complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner and is conscientious about assignments. Q Communicateseffectively both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the company. Q Workseffectively and relates well with others including superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the company. Education and/or ExperienceBS in Business or Computer Science with a minimum of 3-7 years experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator.
