Description

Ventyx is a leading business solutions provider to global energy, utility, communications, and other asset-intensive organizations. We are looking for a SQL Server DBA to augment our existing DBA team in our Boulder office; this position reports to our Senior DBA. The DBA group provides operations and development support to deliver time-sensitive data and business intelligence support about the energy industry to our customers. Our new team member will have the opportunity to learn from senior DBAs and develop new skills while working at a dynamic company with talented individuals.
Responsibilities
* Administer production, test and development instances of SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008 Databases
* Respond to urgent system notifications and resolve issues to prevent customer outages, including some after hours pager support
* Handle Tier 2 support for internal and external customers with questions regarding data changes and SQL Server database issues
* Manage publishing of data from Oracle to SQL Server
* Manage migration of code from Development to Production environments to support monthly software releases
* Troubleshoot and optimize complex queries
* Collaborate with analysts to design tables and ETL processes for new data sources and products
Skills/Experience – If you have experience in multiple of the following areas, consider applying:
* 2 – 5 years administering Microsoft SQL Server including development environments (required)
* Query performance tuning in SQL Server
