Responsibilities: * Responsible for server installations and upgrades in clustered and stand alone environments* Setup and monitoring of automated jobs for backups, DBCCs, index maintenance and other routine administrative tasks* Design and implementation of disaster recovery strategies. Knowledge of clustering, log shipping, and database mirroring.* Assist developers with query and index tuning. Setup monitoring to identify long running transactions, high CPU utilization, excessive disk I/O, blocking, etc* Setup, maintain, and troubleshoot SQL server replication using Transactional and Snapshot topologies* Setup database mail and automate monitoring of SQL Server error logs and failed jobs.* Create SSIS packages to receive/import and create/export flat files to/from business cation: * Minimum education required is a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field* Four (4) additional years of related experience will be considered in lieu of degree Experience: * Solid understanding of system databases, tables and views* Must be able to work from command line.* Good working knowledge of T-SQL.* SSRS experience a plus* Data warehousing / SSAS / BI experience a plus* MySQL administration experience a plus* Minimum 3 years experience with database administration* Excellent time management and organization skills.* Good inter-personal and communication skills.* Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.* Self motivated, creative, resourceful and responsible. * Ideal candidate will be a team player who is driven, willing to take initiative, responsible, and eager to learn.
