| - Top 50 BC Employer - All encompassing DBA role - Take ownership of complex technical database environment Do you have a strong background of in-depth SQL Server Database Administration in complex environments? A BC Top 50 employer has an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate/Senior DBA to take ownership of the administration of complex SQL Server environment with over 20 production database servers. While you will be part of a Database Team, this position will see you solely responsible for the support, administration, optimisation and project work for the entire SQL Server environment. Working closely with the Data Architect, this is an all-encompassing role which means you will be performing a range of basic to high end activities on a daily basis depending on the daily requirements including SSIS Package Deployment and SSRS reports generation. You will also need to have excellent communication skills as you will be dealing with both IT and non-IT users. As a rough breakdown, this position is comprised of the following: - 40% SQL Administration - 25% SSIS Packaging creation and deployments - 25% SSRS Reports Generation - 10% TSQL Development Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related education/experience In-depth SQL Server database administration experience Experience of managing multiple MS SQL 2005 & 2008 RDBMS on large systems Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on database projects Practical experience in monitoring and tuning of databases to provide a high availability service Experience with T-SQL, stored procedures , SSIS and SSRS reports generation Practical experience in managing the internal and external MS SQL database security 5 - 7 years related working experience Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong team orientation Good organization skills, resourcefulness, initiative and a self-starting attitude This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation that truly values their employees.
