Sr Analyst-Strategic Planning
Minimum of 4 years relevant financial experience required, including financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and modeling.
Experience with VZW Capital and expense spending
4 years experience in the wireless industry. Good understanding of wireless industry trends and key business drivers.
Experience in the telecommunications industry, concepts and technologies.
nformation Technology experience preferable.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently, delivering quality results under significant time constraints and critical deadlines.
Solid understanding of financial concepts and valuation modeling experience with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Proficient with Essbase & PeopleSoft GL.
Ability to work extended hours for critical project deliverables as k on the development of the annual and long range IT capital and operating plans. Exercise judgment in the development of financial models that meet VZW strategic targets. Work with, and provide leadership to the Business Planning and Budgeting teams in creating meaningful inputs for IT capital and operating expenses to the VZW long range plan and budget targets. Act as the VZW FP&A SME for IT, providing analysis, insight and guidance. Identify and effectively communicate plan risks and contingencies to VZW executive leadership (CIO, CFO and the SVP of FP&A).
Responsible for the development of complex business cases for IT strategic initiatives, identifying key drivers and assumptions. Work cooperatively with, and provide constructive dissent as appropriate to VZW IT team. Exercise judgment, provide recommendations, and provide executive level summaries communicating findings and recommendations supporting or opposing approval to the VZW CIO, CFO and SVP of FP&A. Perform critical detailed analysis on strategic initiatives to ensure financial objectives are being met.
Review all IT related Affiliate annual agreements and monthly transactions. Act as the SME for VZW IT related Affiliate transactions, investigating discrepancies, providing insight and exercising constructive dissent with Affiliate counterparts where appropriate. Effectively communicate risks to VZW executive leadership (CIO, CFO, Corporate Controller, SVP FP&A, etc).
Review, summarize, and evaluate all IT contracts and create financial analysis to ensure corporate financial objectives are met. Exercise judgment and constructive dissent where appropriate with IT stakeholders. Interface with senior leadership in the routing and approval process, serving as the finance subject matter expert (SME) for contracts and provide technical leadership.
Oversee monthly the compilation and the review of the IT capital and operating expense reporting to Verizon Communications. Effectively communicate insight and understanding regarding VZW progress and challenges towards achieving the capital plan via thoughtful summaries and analyses. This position would utilize Essbase along with other resources such as monthly reporting from IT. The Senior Analyst is also responsible for evaluating and developing reliable and efficient automated solutions to fulfill complex business reporting requirements.
