The Role:

Informatica is looking for an energetic Business Analyst to join our highly motivated team of professionals in delivering quality Business Intelligence (BI) and Master Data Management (MDM) solutions to support our enterprise. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for supporting and enhancing our Business Intelligence and Master Data Management solutions and for establishing and maintaining positive business relationships throughout the business community within IT. You will participate in a cross-functional, team environment, and in the IT department's implementation of Informatica products. In turn, you will have the opportunity to work with a leading-edge IT organization with top quality people focused on customer satisfaction, execution and delivery.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of IT Enterprise Data Management and based in Redwood City, CA, the successful candidate will be a key member of a lean and high impact IT organization of 100 people who are aligned in several geographically dispersed centers in over 25 countries that support an employee base of over 2,200 people.

Primary Responsibilities:

. Provide functional and technical support to business and IT customers for existing and future Business Intelligence and Master Data Management solutions
. Drive the initiation, planning, requirements, design, test and post-production phases of the solutions
. Partner with the user community, including executives, to identify their business requirements, analyze business processes, analyze source data, produce functional specifications, data flows and business rules, and assist with the implementation of those specifications
. Develop, document and perform system, integration, and user acceptance tests
. Serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting cross-functional business intelligence and master data issues and coordinating with cross-functional teams
. Document, track, and resolve master data quality issues and inquiries, and identify and perform proactive processes and score carding with the data stewards to ensure continuous monitoring and improvement
. Provide project management support for IT initiatives
. Provide mentorship to other Business Analysts within the team
. Act as "Scrum Master" for sprint cycles
. Partner with our Data Architect and play a key role in the department's implementation of Informatica products to support Informatica's standing as the leader in Data Integration and Data Quality
. Partner with our Data Architect, Product Management and Sales/Marketing to highlight internal use cases of Informatica products
. Participate in the Data Governance process


. 8 or more years working in a Business Analyst or Data Analyst role
. A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience working on Business Intelligence, Master Data Management, metadata, and/or data quality solutions and/or processes
. A minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience in managing Business Intelligence and/or MDM efforts and project teams through all phases of the project lifecycle from scoping and planning, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, go live, and production support
. Proficiency with SQL and BI tools, especially MicroStrategy
. Demonstrated experience with an offshore development model
. Demonstrated experience working with Agile Methodology
. Strong technical, problem resolution and analytical skills; able to multi task and prioritize effectively
. Experience working with cross-functional teams
. Solid business acumen; ability to understand and anticipate business needs in order to provide appropriate technical solutions
. Experience managing multiple projects and small teams of analysts and developers with both direct and indirect leadership
. Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data modeling
. Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; ability to communicate concepts in both technical and user-friendly language
. Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail
. Highly self-motivated and self-directed
. Strong customer service orientation
. Able to communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications - verbally or through written documentation - to management, peers, staff, and other employees so that issues and solutions are understood.

. Demonstrated experience supporting and troubleshooting packaged or in-house developed data warehousing, BI or MDM solutions
. Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to influence stakeholders
. Demonstrable subject matter knowledge in multiple areas such as Sales, Marketing, Finance
. BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related business field


Desired Skills:

. Demonstrated experience with SQL and working with Oracle database
. Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to be an agent for positive change
. Working knowledge with a data quality tool, preferably Informatica Data Quality
. Experience working with metadata repository tools, preferable Informatica Metadata Manager
. Demonstrated working knowledge of various business process and system modeling tools including: Data Flow Diagrams, Process Models, ER diagrams, Dimensional Data Models, and Use Case Scenarios
