Responsibilities:
Responsible for working with the business to gather and document business needs and requirements on moderately complex projects. Assists in the analysis of underlying issues arising from investigations into requirements. Works with development resources to ensure the proposed design meets business requirements and works with Quality Assurance Managers (where applicable) to coordinate testing activities. Provides regular updates to assigned Program/Project Management. Interacts with the business to gather, understand and document business needs and requirements, using structured methodologies and tools. Reports to the Lead Business Analyst or Program/Lead Project Manager (where a Lead Business Analyst is not available). May work in conjunction with Testing & Quality Assurance resources (if applicable) to determine system and user testing requirements, and coordinate testing phases. May act as a Lead Business Analyst for smaller/less complex project work. Supports the analysis of business requirements by utilizing knowledge of one or more business areas and platforms/applications for the portfolio supported. Utilizes modeling techniques (for example, business process, data, event), to discover and clarify the functional and data requirements. Reviews supporting business case throughout the course of delivery to ensure that business case objectives are met, and escalates (where necessary) with Program/Project Management, as appropriate. Works with the business to understand and determine system implications in terms of the platform(s)/application(s) and business processes. Facilitates meetings with the business to gather and document business needs and requirements. Works with development teams to ensure that proposed design meets requirements and enterprise quality standards. Reviews development estimates from development teams and actively seeks clarification/verification, as appropriate. Works closely with Program/Project Management, providing inputs during project planning (resource requirements, development estimates, etc.) and throughout the course of the development to ensure business objectives are met. Develops test plans, including identification of test scenarios/ cases. Coordinates test phases in conjunction with Testing & Quality Assurance resources (if applicable). Assists in implementation planning and attends Post Implementation Reviews to ensure lessons learned are carried forward in subsequent development activities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related fields. 5+ years of experience with business analysis, project management or programming.
