Position Summary:

The senior internal communication specialist increases employee effectiveness, engagement and understanding of corporate strategies, culture and values by delivering compelling communications through a variety of channels. This key position oversees editorial planning and manages the company's primary internal communication vehicles: the intranet, the quarterly print publication and large-scale corporate meetings/webcasts. A member of the corporate communications team, the incumbent's primary responsibilities include:

 

  • Serving as managing editor for internal corporate communication vehicles, developing editorial plans and ensuring an appropriate mix of content to highlight company strategies, culture, values and news.
  • Overseeing all aspects of project management for communication vehicles, including content development, design, translation, printing, meeting production and webcasting.
  • Managing the work of internal resources, contract workers, vendors and other partners in the development and production of corporate vehicles.
  • Developing and implementing measurement processes for corporate communication vehicles and programs.
  • Enhancing vehicle effectiveness by identifying, recommending and implementing new features/functionality.
  • Facilitating the planning, prioritization and implementation of corporate communications technology projects.
  • Researching, writing and editing content.
  • Managing annual corporate award programs.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years experience in organizational communications.
  • Five or more years writing and editing of a broad variety, including news reporting and feature writing for print or online communications.
  • Editorial and production experience in print and electronic media.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to a diverse employee population.
  • Ability to work effectively with company stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to drive results and strategic initiatives.
 Desired Qualifications
  • Six to seven years large-company experience, including developing editorial plans and managing related projects.
  • Knowledge and experience using web content management tools and portal frameworks (e.g., SharePoint).
  • Knowledge and experience in meeting planning and production.
  • Proficiency using applications related to print, online and meeting production (e.g., PhotoShop, PowerPoint).
