Requisition: Sr. Data Warehouse Software Engineer Position Overview: CCC Information Services, a top Chicago software company, is seeking a data warehouse and ETL developer for our Business Intelligence team. The primary responsibility is to participate in the technical analysis and design, coding, testing, development, and maintenance of CCC’s data warehouse applications, using SQL, Perl, shell scripts, ETL tools, dimensional models, and complex relational databases. Qualifications: · Requires 5+ years experience in designing and building highly efficient ETL systems using formal software development processes and a variety of ETL tools. · Requires 5+ years experience implementing dimensional data warehouses in Oracle and/or Red Brick. · A solid Software Development background with strong, full SDLC, software development methodology knowledge and experience. Experience developing data warehouse applications using an Agile methodology preferred. · Experience in leading complex software development projects. · Experience with MicroStrategy preferred, ideally with Architect, Desktop Designer, and Narrowcast server. · Strong SQL and scripting skills. · Strong UNIX (Solaris, Linux) and Windows skills. · Ability to quickly understand both business and technical concepts. · Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. · Ability to innovate, prioritize and multi-task. · Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate actively and proactively with others in a cross-functional team. · Technical aptitude and problem solving skills, cooperative approach. · Self-motivated and self-managed with a high degree of analytical and intellectual curiosity. · Auto insurance and/or collision repair industry experience helpful. · Data modeling skills helpful.
Responsibilities: · Design and Code complex data warehouse and ETL applications. · Create and execute unit test plans. · Research and correct complex defects. · Participate in and lead functional and technical specification reviews. · Participate in creating and executing integration level test plans. · Develop detailed technical analysis and design specifications based on functional requirements. · Research technical solutions to business problems. · Provide technical development mentoring to other engineers. Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information System, Engineering, or related field of study.
