Manages the planning and delivery of data warehouse architecture design services, providing sizing and configuration assistance, and performing needs assessments. Analyzes current business practices, processes and procedures, and identifies future business opportunities for leveraging data storage and retrieval system capabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job responsibilities include all tasks and responsibilities associated with being a Oracle/MY*SQL database administrator including (but not limited to) the following:
• Provides Oracle DBA technical support in a UNIX infrastructure, as well as My*SQL support.
• Plan and implement Oracle software installations, upgrades, and patches.
• Plan and build database instances and objects, in Oracle and My*SQL including the creation of partitions, tables, views, procedures and other database objects
• Plan and implement Oracle backup and recovery using RMAN.
• Monitor and tune databases for optimum performance. Assist in capacity planning of database servers. Maintain and monitor database systems to ensure proper operation, performance, data backup, disaster recovery and availability using OEM and RMAN. Tunes databases as needed.
• Troubleshoots infrastructure problems.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to application support staff and project teams.
• Develop, document, and implement operational support procedures for infrastructure components, and security configurations for the database instances to comply with existing standards.
• Refresh development/test databases from copies of production.
• Responsible for quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.
• Work with production teams to put in place real-time database monitoring systems
• Employ best database development knowledge to address performance, scalability and efficiency issues with large databases topology.
• Work with application developers to create and update database components
• Work closely with software engineering and operation teams to troubleshoot performance issues.
• Respond to and solve technical problems related to databases, in a 24x7 on-call support role.

• Able to work flexible hours, especially during product launches and production environment issues
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Minimum 5 years of experience in relational database development and engineering experience
Must have 5 years of Oracle administration and programming hands on experience in:
• RDBMS w/ Oracle in a UNIX environment 5 yrs
• Monitoring tools – Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Database tuning, optimization, monitoring, backup and recovery
• Understanding of Oracle replication. Oracle Materialized Views, Refresh Groups.
• Understanding of network concepts
