Business Card Title / Posting Title Sr Director, IT Program Management Job Summary As a Senior Director, IT Program Management you will utilize strong management and technical competencies to set objectives and develop strategies for subordinate level managers. You will manage people who lead departmental and cross-functional teams that are focused on the efficient operation's of the company's information processing systems and planning for future information systems needs. You are responsible for setting functional goals, plans and schedules, closely monitoring execution of initiatives, driving issue resolution, and accepting the responsibility for ensuring successful achievement of program goals. The Senior Director, IT Program Management will be responsible for managing multiple projects which roll into an overall Quote-To-Order Fulfillment Transformation Program. This includes managing all phases of a program/project's lifecycle including risk management and managing stakeholder expectations. This position will be responsible for Program Management oversight of 100+ NetApp Regular and External workers and an annual IT Program budget of $15M+.
Essential Functions: .Design, develop and implement operating policies that ensure the operations effective achievement of objectives. .Develop and approve exceptions to policy tied directly to area of responsibility. .Work collaboratively with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. .Participate in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs and people within your area of responsibility. .Develop budgets for approval and assure adherence once budget is approved. .Utilize previously acquired technical, project management, and people management experience to actively lead strategic regional and global projects. .Control of planning, staffing, budgeting, and managing expenses. Job Requirements .Defines, documents, and delivers large-scale programs of work. .Actively participates in all phases of the project; identifies, assesses, and manages risks to the success of the program. .Defines and champions a method of working to ensure there is an effective, representative, and accurate business and IT steer for the active elements of the program (i.e., ensuring project governance is put in place to support delivery of the program). .Has effective control, leadership, and responsibility for the defined scope of the program including program-level change control; develops and leads the process for dealing with rapid major change; ensures the communication channels and processes are in place to notify the relevant people so that plans can be amended and the necessary action taken. .Provides thought leadership on appropriateness of tools and process to project goals; influences program sponsor to set and modify program scope in response to external influences; modifies personal approach and style to reflect changing circumstance; ensures appropriate sponsorship. .Ensure definition of complete program/project scope and objectives. .Align program/project requirements with business and IT technology strategy and vision .Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of the program/project to ensure that goals and objectives of the program/projects are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. .Manage the program/project to the established scope and objectives balancing stakeholders' expectations. concerning project cost, time, and scope. .Build and manage program/project plans that deliver expected results including specifying goals, strategy, scheduling, resource plans, risk and issues management, and change control for each phase of the project. .Build and maintain good relationships with IT and business management to actively manage stakeholder expectations. .Identify and schedule program/project deliverables, milestones, dependencies, and required tasks. .Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure the project progresses on schedule and is within the prescribed budget. .Establish the program/project's budget and provide project spending forecasts against the budget. .Actively engage projects using project management best practices such as risk management, scheduling, budget management, communications management, and stakeholder expectation management. Education and Experience .A minimum of 10 years of experience as a project and/or program manager is required. 7+ years successful indirect leadership and management of virtual project/program teams to achieve objectives in a matrixed manner (without line authority). .Bachelor's degree with recommended more than eight years of relevant experience or non-bachelor degree holder with recommended more than. .Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, critical projects is required. .Must have demonstrated experience and track record in managing large-scale IT projects or programs (with teams based in multiple locations) to successfully deliver within specified timescales and budget. .Oracle e-Business Suite Platform experience covering Quote, Configuration, Pricing, Order Management and Order Fulfillment functional areas is highly desirable. .High Technology experience covering Channel and Direct business models is highly desirable. .Master's Certification in Project Management or PMP Certification is highly desirable .Significant knowledge of project management processes, methods, and standards. .Excellent leadership and communications skills are required. .Experience managing a matrix team consisting of associates, contractors, and vendors with various skills and disciplines. .Self-starter with high energy to meet the needs of a demanding business and IT environment .Skills include strong business acumen and strategic thinking to complement strong tactical execution skills.
