Position Description:
This position directs and leads key IT engagements with the wireless business unit in Comcast. As ?Project Champion? the individual filling this position will have primary responsibility for enablement of a successful launch and roll-out of new wireless capabilities across Comcast. The individual will manage both direct and virtual teams including employees, partners and vendors as necessary. This is a hands-on position that requires both business and IT knowledge of the communications industry, with specialized expertise in the wireless industry. The position requires exceptional communication skills as the individual will need to interact effectively with individuals at all levels within Comcast and across multiple IT and business organizations.
Responsibilities: * Own the delivery of key projects across organizations * Actively manage the vision, scope, approach and schedule for wireless key initiatives * Manage and resolve project risks and key issues, including escalations as necessary to ensure the success of the overall program * Work directly with the appropriate Comcast business units to define and ensure overall business success of programs, including both IT and non-IT components * Understand and coordinate the dependent projects, platforms and programs necessary to successfully deliver key programs * Provide regular executive briefings to business and IT executives on the program direction and status * Define and report on key management metrics demonstrating the business value of key programs Minimum Requirements:
ยง College degree or recognized equivalent in work experience and self-study * 10+ yrs project/program management experience * 5+ yrs communications industry experience * 2+ years wireless experience * 2+ years BSS/OSS application experience * Understanding and experience with both business and IT components of major programs * Experience collaborating with company personnel including senior leadership on complex topics. * Proven track record of establishing credibility and rapport as a business partner with members of senior leadership * Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to make group presentations. * Excellent analytical and problem solving skills required for problem identification and resolution. * Demonstrated experience managing applications and systems in a collaborative, cross functional, client focused environment. * Demonstrated skills in problem analysis showing balanced consideration of technical, customer care and business issues * Strategic thinker who can channel the appropriate information into an innovative, concise and realistic action plan * Business Process Background in a Telecommunications environment * Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, plan, delegate and adjust priorities that are characteristic in a high volume technical environment
