ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW Application Delivery Business Unit The Application Delivery Business Unit (ADBU) is the home of Cisco's WAN/Application Optimization portfolio which includes solutions for both network layer and application layer acceleration. Cisco's Wide Area Application Services (WAAS) portfolio includes stand alone appliances which scale from the branch office to the Data Center as well as integrated modules for Cisco's Integrated Services Router. ADBU plays a leading role in Cisco's GTM to increase the value and synergy between the network layer and the application layer.
JOB ROLE: We are currently looking for a seasoned Senior Director of Marketing to lead our ADBU's marketing organization. The leader will drive a rapidly expanding marketing group which encompasses product management, product marketing, and technical marketing. The ideal candidate would have a proven track record productizing differentiated innovation to disrupt markets, life cycle management expertise, outbound executive communications & operational skillsets, and experience building and growing marketing departments. Cross functional partnering with engineering is essential, and a broad experience with all elements of the go-to-market are required. Domain knowledge of WAN/Application Optimziation is a plus, as is background working at the Application layer within systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Major Responsibilities Product Management: Developing overall product and market strategy & requirements, pricing, partnering with engineering to execute, scaling operations, life cycle management, forecasting, team development Technical Marketing: Customer/field support, technical training & documentation, competitive analysis
Go-To-Market: Coordinate overall go to market in partnership & leveraging sales and central marketing groups. Drive field readiness, differentiation, demand gen, channel strategy, launches, etc.
Leadership: Executive presence, ability to partner across groups and build coalitions, high energy engagement, empowerment
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE The ideal candidate will possess the following experience: .Will have held a product management position for a large, complex organization preferably in the High Tech sector. .Will have dealt with strategic issues facing a business and led the business strategy for success at one or more businesses. .A minimum 15 years in high technology industry, 10 years of product management, 8+ years of people management, and 5+ years of second-line management experience.

Accelerate: Develops the overall strategy for the product line, effectively communicates it to the group, and aligns it with Cisco's overall strategy, enhancing Cisco's network-as-the-platform strategy, and resulting in strong buy-in and commitment from the business unit, customers, and the enterprise. Disrupt: Promotes innovation and change in order to improve the technology, operations, and business processes needed to execute strategy and set Cisco apart in the global marketplace
EDUCATION: A technical undergraduate degree or other demonstrated high technology aptitude is required. An MBA or other business/executive training is preferred.
COMPENSATION: The successful candidate will receive a highly competitive and attractive compensation package, which includes a base salary, a performance-based bonus, and equity.
