Sr Director, Program Management Office (Sports Media/Graphics/Web/IT)
The Senior Director, Technology Program Office will assume responsibility for management of the team of existing PMO professionals and contribute to the evolution and continuous improvement of our Technology PMO organization. This position will work closely with our various technology, engineering, development, and operations teams, primarily in the U.S. and with some international exposure. The position will indirectly manage a team of 15-20 individuals through five (5) Director-level direct reports.
Responsibilities
Manage relationships with the technology teams, understanding their needs and presenting the PMO's capabilities and direction while serving as leader, strategist and advisor.
Help to define and implement best practices, reporting/communication needs, tools, and engagement models as appropriate.
Identify and deploy tools to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
Promote the standardization of Project and Program Management process adoption and ensure compliance with developed standards.
Monitor performance across the PMO, tracking key issues such as schedule/milestones, budget, scope, staffing, and quality.
Provide objective insight, risk identification and mitigation, support with communications, issue escalation and management, analysis and commentary on PMO data.
Regularly communicate (formally and informally) with Senior Management.
Be a value added partner to the PMO teams as they work to deliver projects and successfully manage their clients.
Provide management and mentoring of direct reports and lead them in the consistent and successful delivery of projects with high customer satisfaction.
Encourage direct reports to continually invest in building mutually beneficial internal relationships with key internal stakeholders.
Balance the goal of fulfilling near-term delivery needs with the strategic goal of the PMO to build a more mature, standardized delivery capability.
Work with the teams to define/coordinate staffing and resource demand plans.
Support the SVP and Technology leader through budget approval processes.
Oversee strategic aspects of key initiatives and critical projects.
Basic Qualifications
Illustrate a solid and consistent track record of success in leading a technology-centric PMO organization.
Ability to facilitate collaboration among internal key stakeholders and team resources will be a critical driver for success in this role.
Strong consultative, listening, communications and analytical skills, and be a critical thinker with excellent judgment.
Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to facilitate complex issue resolution across multiple systems and business groups.
Ability to adjust personal style to deal with a fast-paced, rapidly changing organization.
Very customer service focused.
Ability to conceptualize strategic vision and inspire others to see that vision.
Ability to motivate and lead, with a demonstrated track record of building and maintaining highly collaborative, flexible, and productive cross-organization teams.
Strong management, influence, facilitation and problem solving skills.
Exposure to Program/Project methodologies and tools is required, though a certification (such as PMI, PMP) is not a requirement.
People management experience required.
Required minimum of 10 years professional experience in relevant Technology (Software, Network, Broadcast, IT, etc.).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in technology-related Project and/or Program Management.
Substantial experience with resource capacity and utilization planning and prioritization against other organizational efforts.
Experience with financial planning and departmental budget management.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with strategic development or implementation of a large PMO is desired.
Exposure to in multiple Software Development methodologies and tools is not required, but is desired.

Graduate degree.
Required Education
BS degree or equivalent; preferably within a technical discipline
