Sr Engineer - Mechanical Project Leader

Location(s): Plymouth MI

Major Job Duties Include:
Mechanical Project Control Act as the main point of contact between the Development groups and the Bosch Mechanical engineering team for the projects assigned to you following the steps outlined in the ECU Product Development Process. This shall include, but not be limited to the following:
* Ensure that all Bosch processes are followed.
* Act as the single point of focus for all Mechanical activities.
* Responsible to work closely with internal and external customers to establish expectations.
* Coordinate design and manufacturing qualification issues with Mechanical Integration Specialist.
* Coordinate the activities of the Mechanical Engineers, Designers, and PCB Lay outers.
* Develop quality products per the Bosch design guidelines.
* Ensure that Mechanical Engineers assigned to your projects continue to provide mechanical design and development support following the Bosch process.
* Monitor work assignments to ensure adherence to project plan.
* Ensure that all Internal Quality tools (DRBFM, DFSS, etc.) are utilized effectively.
* Generate and maintain Open issues Lists and Timing Plans for Mechanical activities.
* Ensure Risk Assessments and Design Assumption Lists are completed as required.
* Schedule and conduct Scoping and Review meetings for Development Design and Tooling.
* Actively participate in the supplier selection process.
* Monitor Mechanical Development costs for assigned projects.
* Work closely with Purchasing to ensure cost targets are met for Mechanical components.
* Provide regular project status updates to management.

Minimum:
* BS in a technical field required
* 3 - 5 years experience as a Project Lead or Project Manager
* Must be process driven and pro-active
* Excellent communication and problem solving skills
* Excellent organization and coordination skills
* Ability to occasionally travel

Desired:
* Experience with Design and Development of Electronic Control Units
* German language
