Sr. IT Business Analyst
Title: Sr. IT Business Analyst
Location: CA-San Diego

SUMMARY:
Responsible for analyzing business requirements and development of information technology solutions focused on the engineering and product development business areas. Builds and maintains close relationships with business teams to assist in defining business requirements and systems. Responsible for a wide variety of technical activities related to requirements gathering, solution synthesis, planning, implementation, testing, documentation, upgrade and support of Agile PLM and other engineering related business systems. Works with a variety of individuals at all levels of the supported business function and has a clear understanding of the business needs and a broad knowledge of information technology that may be applied. Coordinates technical team including developers, system administrators, contractors and other analysts in the delivery of solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Interacts with the engineering and product development functions to develop detailed understanding of business Information Technology needs. Confers with technical or functional experts at all levels, company-wide, to obtain requirements, develop solution proposals and coordinate implementation. Proactively seeks opportunities that will support business goals and provide business users with alternatives that enhance business performance and efficiency.
* Evaluates and facilitates prioritization of user requests for enhancements and/or upgrading of highly complex business systems.
* Researches business systems, operations, and data needs for the development of business information systems and enhancements. Develops solution proposals and designs to meet customer requirements. Facilitates communications with business customer through all phases of this process.
* Provides responsive customer support for assigned business applications. Coordinates resolution of system support issues for assigned business area with IT staff, suppliers and functional users.
* Design, configure, maintain and administer Agile PLM and other business systems. May perform some development activities and report writing.
* Assists in evaluating software, hardware and services providers. Coordinates suppliers', contractors', or consultants' efforts required for completion of work.
* Create and maintain consistent and thorough documentation of all requirements, designs, processes and procedures for supported applications.
* Define, monitor and report upon Service Level Agreements.
* Identify and design monitoring requirements and techniques.
* Focuses on meeting and exceeding customer needs on quality, delivery, and cost when making decisions and recommendations. Actively surveys internal customers for feedback, and adjusts activities accordingly.
* Provide communications (i.e., verbal, written, presentation) to users and manage expectations regarding changes to the system and the development of new functionality. Effectively communicate technical information to non-technical business stakeholders and end users.
* Manages, sets priorities of, and successfully completes multiple projects and support issues concurrently with little or no supervision of the work group manager.
* Maintains comprehensive knowledge of related functions within a discipline and possibly related disciplines to accomplish responsibilities. Keeps current on new technologies by reading literature, attending conferences and seminars, taking classes, and participating in technical societies, as appropriate.
* Support the responsibilities and activities of the Project Manager (e.g., assist in the preparation of status updates, prioritization of enhancements, release dates, etc). Lead some projects and improvement initiatives.
* Comply with all corporate and department policies, processes and controls.
* Other duties as required.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * At least 4 years working experience with functional and technical aspects of Agile product lifecycle management application suite or similar PLM/PDM package. Proficient understanding of the functional capabilities and configuration of one or more of these applications or similar applications is required.
* Working knowledge of CAD and product modeling tools such as ProE or Solid Works. Direct experience with CAD data management required.
* At least 4 years working in a customer facing role supporting information technology systems.
* Requires thorough understanding of planning, analysis and testing techniques required to support an enterprise business system.
* Extensive knowledge or experiencewithengineering processes including Engineering Change Management, Configuration Management, CAD, product development life cycle methodologies and project/program management processes.
* Requires understanding of capabilities, features and limitations of system development tools. Previous experience developing applications in a structured programming language such as T-SQL, C# or VB. Proficiency with SQL is required. Familiarity with business intelligence tools including Business Objects, ETL, and OLAP technologies is preferred
* Experience with Business Intelligence approaches and techniques including Data Warehousing and related technologies.
* Demonstrated ability to act in a consultative role to understand functional business processes, related information technology needs and to develop solutions and delivery proposals; Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments and priorities.
* Experience in participating in cross-functional project teams environment. Ability to perform in various roles from individual contributor to a leadership role. Ability to contribute to planning, organization and managing of project teams using a structured delivery methodology.
* Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other business organizations. Successful experience in working with diverse groups of people in a problem-solving environment.
* Applies varied approaches to solve complex business support challenges of significance to the organization.
* Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must excel in a consultative role in directly facilitating and leading business customer interactions.
* Ability to complete work with minimal supervision.
* Understanding of software development lifecycle and general IT processes and procedures.
* Requires knowledge of standard business tools (Word, Excel, etc.).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
* Requires a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Requires a minimum of six (6) years of related experience.
