Your skills are needed to assist a significant player operating within the financial sector and located in NY, NY. In this role you will work as senior developer/analyst on a variety of systems that constitute the platforms within their Equity Finance IT unit serving a client base across the UK, Switzerland, US and Asia. The clients Securities Lending platform has evolved over the years through development, acquisition and mergers. There is redundancy of function, poor code, poor architecture. Over the coming years you will be involved in: - Deconstruct existing systems - Define appropriate functions - Optimize system structure - Build a reliable, scalable approach to structuring our systems - Emphasize real-time, online processing - Develop exception based processing - Building a front to back Securities Lending platform that facilitates order entry, borrow/loan entry, contract life cycle processing, reconciliation, settlement, financial risk management/reporting, counterparty interaction and end customer interaction. The selected candidate should have a solid project track record of successful Java development projects in the brokerage/equities trading sector (Goldman, Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley). Please note: We are looking for a candidate with experience in front end systems, N tier architecture, inter process communication, middleware and exception based processing as well as business process improvement. Functional knowledge of Collateral Optimization is nice to have! (which asset is best utilized when using collateral to Finance Securities business). Technical Competencies: - 6+ yrs of work with all aspects of Java and related technologies Microsoft technologies, C#, Windows server environment is desirable - A strong background with the Scrum/Agile development methodology - Spring and Hibernate - Experience with source code control - SVN - Subversion - Experience with programming distributed systems - Experience with multi-threaded applications - Practical usage of design patterns - Unit and acceptance testing - Must be able to accurately and pragmatically estimate development effort required - Performance tuning of large systems - Programming and design of database services (specifically Oracle/Sybase) - Linux - tcp/ip, sockets, jms, http Interested candidates should forward their resumes to: Shaun Kirkwood Horizon Technology Partners, Inc 1316 W.
