Job Description Sr. Marketing IT Manager 12840:
Purpose and function of the job: Responsible for managing Marketing business client relationships, supplier relationships, and internal IT team to provide effective delivery and support of Marketing technology.
Develop, plan, direct, maintain, and deploy multiple projects/programs and systems in support of Marketing. Provide management and consultative support related to new system development initiatives. Ensure effective ongoing support and availability of key Marketing platforms (Marketing Analytics Database, email Marketing Platform, Cross- Sell Platform, etc.) Supervise team of Technology Delivery Managers, Project Managers, Business Analysts, and developers who work closely with business representatives to complete system initiatives. Manage relationships with key suppliers that host and maintain Marketing platforms.
Principle Accountabilities: Manage Marketing Technology team - Responsible for staffing, staff development, salary administration, and performance reviews. - Maintain resource utilization forecasts, tracking allocations to current assignments, base support/admin activities, and projecting resource needs for projects and sustain activities. - Conduct regular one-on-ones and team meetings to providing direction on team goals and feedback on progress toward goals.
Manage Marketing Business Relationships - Proactively manage business client relationships to keep business partners abreast of progress on current technology initiatives and to collaborate on new opportunities to leverage technology to deliver value for the business. - Proactively seek out, evaluate, recommend, and implement new technology solutions in support of Marketing’s goals, improved system stability, and lower system support costs. - Collaborate with Marketing leadership to prioritize and execute technology initiatives.
Manage Technology Delivery & Support - Establish roadmap for major initiatives and refresh quarterly - Manage local governance process for new project reviews. Prepare tollgate presentations and ensure accuracy of project financials. Engage support teams for review and approval (including Testing Center of Excellence, Architecture, Technology Shared Services, Finance, Procurement, etc.) - Assign personnel to various projects and direct their activities - reviewing and evaluating work performance against project plans. Prepare activity and progress reports for technology initiatives. - Ensure that Marketing technology projects are kept on track, issues are identified & addressed, and business representatives are fully informed of status. - Ensure team adherence to enterprise standard system development methodology. - Conduct monthly operations reviews to monitor &/manage capacity utilization, and review production incidents to verify appropriate corrective actions are taken - Maintain support and escalation plans to ensure that appropriate resources are available to address production issues as needed - Ensure appropriate planning, testing, and deployment discipline is followed for production changes, including regression testing, back out and restore verification, and change management. - Ensure proactive monitoring and alerts processes are in place for key application processes and integrations
Manage Marketing Technology Budget - Manage Marketing development and sustain budgets including monthly forecast preparation and review with Finance. - Manage purchase requests and payment of invoices from suppliers.
Manages Marketing Technology Supplier relationships - Conduct monthly operations reviews to monitor compliance with Service Level Agreements, capacity utilization & projected needs, and review production issues - Collaborate on design for technology solutions delivered by suppliers - Monitor status of project and minor enhancement work performed by suppliers – serving as an escalation point for issue resolution, and determining corrective actions as needed to keep project delivery on track. - Collaborate with Suppliers on roadmap for future technology initiatives. Experience and skills requirements: - Experience with and working knowledge of Marketing technologies including: - Customer Data Marts - Campaign Management - CRM - Reporting and Analytic - Multivariate Testing - eMail Marketing - Web Tracking / Analytics platforms
- Experience with supporting Marketing, Analytics, Sales, and/or Customer Relationship Management business organizations. - A minimum of ten years experience in Information Technology, with a minimum of seven years in an IT management position (with direct reports). Should also have prior experience as a Senior Systems Consultant, a Senior Project Manager, or in a systems development management role. - Must have excellent oral and written communicative, interpersonal and organizational skills. Must also have experience in the development of management presentations and effectively conducting these presentations. - Demonstrated experience providing technology-oriented consultative support in identifying and implementing creative solutions to address business problems and strategies in support of business goals. - Experience managing and coordinating supplier relationships related to the delivery of IT services or products associated with technology solutions in support of business strategies. - Must possess a relatively diverse knowledge of information technology capabilities regarding current and relevant technology strategies. - Must have extensive experience with formal systems development methodologies, and project management tools and techniques. - Demonstrated leadership skills in managing matrixed IT staff members who are responsible for IT and business projects as well as managing vendor relationships related to the delivery of IT products and services. - Must have experience in managing buget and financial forecasts.
