The Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) position is responsible for engineering design and development for new features or increments on current features. Work with cross functional and cross organizational (including vendor) teams to develop new/enhance features for broadband network engineering in areas such as forecasting, performance, capacity, reliability for Mobility RAN and Layer 1-3. Present analysis results and prototypes/demos to clients/users, to gain acceptance and feedback. Identify and resolve mobility network design and capacity issues planning and forecasting core network. Models and analysis for end to end services across multiple network elements. Enhancement of AT&T processes/tools for mobility network engineering and operations in areas such as performance, capacity, reliability for various voice and data services. Provide network engineering support for wireless network integration and assist with analysis results and recommendations.
Skills: Object oriented software development in Java, Perl, C . Skills of big volume data processing (Oracle) including data collection from network devices, database engineering and web reporting. J2EE, web service, XML programming in distributed environments.
Experience: Four or more years of professional experience with complete software life cycles. Telecommunication network knowledge especially wireless and wireline broadband network (Layer1-3, wireless UMTS, LTE, DSL, ATM) is highly valued. Knowledge and exposure of TCP/IP and mobility protocols is highly valued.
