Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions is looking for a Sr. Developer developing .Net based web applications. Our applications provide Learning Management Systems and portal applications to our customers. Required Skills:
* At least 5+ years of (.Net 2.0 and higher framework) based web development experience.
* Experience in building Web applications using Visual Studio, C#, XML, XSLT, JavaScript & CSS
* Knowledge in Flex, Action Script 3 and Flex builder or willing to learn and work
* SQL experience and knowledge of SQL server 2005 and above
* 1+ years of experience in leading a project team(Team Lead or Tech Lead roles)
* Expert-level .Net skills and object oriented design experience, including strong knowledge of core libraries and common design patterns
* Experience with light-weight and/or Agile, test-driven development methodologies
* Experience with large-scale production systems (i.e. scalability, high-availability), with the ability to optimize architecture and implementation across all layers of architecture.
* Experience with the entire software lifecycle – requirements capture, analysis, design, implementation, quality assurance, deployment, and maintenance
* A team player and strong problem-solver to work with a team of other software developers, project managers, business analysts and QA analysts
* Excellent communications skills, with the ability to work with business users as well as other members of the technical staff
* Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and all phases of the entire software lifecycle
* Implementing, maintaining, and documenting high-quality applications
* Availability for periodic off-hours production support as needed
Additional skills preferred:
* Hands on experience with Java or willing to learn and work with both C# and Java
* Experience with AJAX, JavaScript frameworks like JQuery, YUI & CSS
* Comfortable with user interface design and development
* Experience with tools such as Nant, NUnit, NHibernate, , etc
* Experience with techniques such as Dependency Injection and ORM
