Title: SR NETWORK ENGINEER - Network Ops Center w/ Top Secret Clearance Location: DC-Washington Duties and Responsibilities: * The Network Analyst is responsible for rapid recovery of network outages and the day-to-day network operations at a large federal government agency's Tier 3 Network Operation Center (NOC). * The Network Analyst should be comfortable troubleshooting LAN, WAN, Remote Access, Router, and Firewall related issues for local and remote customers. * Candidate will work primarily in CISCO environment mixed with other technologies to include TACLANE, WAN Accelerators, and Context Filtering. * The position may require support of both unclassified and classified networks. * Provide rapid recovery of network outages and conduct network maintenance while receiving work direction from the Network Operations Lead Engineer and Operations Manager. * Ensure proactive monitoring utilizing network monitoring tools, such as CiscoWorks, WhatsUpGold, Solar Winds, GEMs, and HP Openview. * Executes conference calls for assigned maintenance activities and outages. * Update and resolve outages and maintenance using Service Center ticketing system. * Generate reports as required for review by the Network Operations Manager for assigned outages. * A candidate will be responsible to understand and ensure compliance for meeting critical Service Level Agreements (SLA), and Key Performance Indicators (KPI). * The Network Analyst is responsible to understand critical business areas of Incident, Change, Service Level, and Problem Management in support of an ITIL Foundation. * Candidates will be expected to understand, implement, and follow processes in accordance with current policies and procedures. * Perform escalation and additional tasks as directed. The Network Analyst reports to the Network Operations Lead Engineer and Operations Required Qualifications:
* Cisco CCNA is required. * Active Top Secret security clearance with ability to attain SCI access. * Minimum of 5-7 years as an innovative technical professional, customer service oriented, and highly knowledgeable engineer in the field of Network and Security Engineering with experience in a NOC environment. * Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent, and seven to nine years of related (telecommunication analysis) experience. * Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in severs, Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and Taclane devices are required. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel experience is required. * Requires a high level of project coordination skills to manage the execution of maintenance activities and network outages. * Experience must include network design, operational support, and configuration of network devices such as servers, routers, hubs, switches, Taclanes, and associated software tools. * A strong knowledge of CiscoWorks, WhatsUpGold, Solar Winds, GEMs, and HP Openview monitoring tools is necessary. * Knowledge of network protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, and ATM is required. * Position requires a high level of project coordination skills to manage the execution of maintenance activities. Desired Qualifications:
