Our IT team is looking for an experienced Oracle Applications / Database Administrator whose primary responsibility is to provide business applications support for Noetix’s Oracle database and application environments. This position is based in our Hyderabad, India location. The Sr. Oracle Apps DBA’s primary responsibility is to ensure that the various Oracle Applications Environments meet the business needs of the company. The Sr. Oracle Apps DBA acts as liaison to the various groups in the company that require Oracle environments, and owns defining the roadmap of how the portfolio of environments are to be configured and sized to meet the needs of the various business groups. This position also works closely with other members of the IT team to best leverage infrastructure technologies for servers and for automating processes. This position reports directly to the Director of Information Technology. Core Deliverables and Responsibilities:
* Responsible for implementing and managing environments that meet mutually agreed-upon service levels. * Oracle EBS Applications installation and maintenance for a global company. * Support for multiple versions and instances of Oracle EBS and Databases. * Performs troubleshooting of issues and coordinates communication and resources to resolution. Addresses the root cause of problems to prevent recurrence of the same or similar issues. * Monitor client tools and server software connectivity and Install Oracle product stack on Linux/UNIX/Windows. * Research and solve challenging Oracle related technical issues. * Support the Engineering and Support work that depends on the health of the various Oracle EBS and Database environments. * Implement and maintain Oracle backup / recovery methodologies and strategies. * Research existing problems, propose and implement new solutions, technologies, features, and improvements to the servers. * Identifies opportunities to improve business processes and solve business problems and proposes solutions. * Proposes and implements technology projects with a global view of the company’s needs across departments and locations. * Works with the Director of IT to prioritize and balance tasks/projects to accomplish high priority items in a fast-paced environment. * Clearly documents and communicates the status of ongoing projects, support items and standard procedures. * Publishes and updates (at a minimum annually) the Environments Roadmap that covers all of the Oracle systems in the enterprise and their alignment with the various business groups’ use, current and projected. * Acts as Subject Matter Expert for Oracle DB and Apps, staying current on new technologies as well as industry best practices, and driving innovation in the environments. * Functions as an effective team member through good communication and cooperation to meet departmental and company goals. * Some heavy lifting - computer equipment, monitors, supplies etc. * All other tasks as assigned. * Some after-hour work may be required for emergency support, maintenance, and special projects.
Position Qualifications:
* Prior technical Oracle Applications DBA experience of 7+ years is required and prior project leadership experience is desired. * This position requires experience in the technology stack, including architecture, installation, configuration, maintenance, tuning, cloning, patching, backup/recovery of Oracle systems. * Strong understanding of software development methodologies, project management methodologies is critical for success. * Proficiency at managing and scaling a variety of environments located in a multi-national company and highly-skilled at troubleshooting issues through to root-cause. * Excellent interpersonal skills - patient, responsible, focused, detail-orientated, team-oriented, and self-motivated person with excellent customer service, and communication skills. * This candidate also must be comfortable supporting diverse end-user skill levels, and has a passion for technology and strives to deliver solutions for business problems with a combination of process and technology.
Education / Training / Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent experience is required. Oracle certifications are desired.
