Job Description: We are seeking a Sr. Database Administrator with 13-15 years of DBA experience, of which 10-12 years should be with Oracle databases in Oracle applications environments. The ideal candidate would have a strong background in maintaining, supporting, and administering enterprise-wide Oracle database and Oracle application environments. Candidate must have a rich experience in designing and architecting robust database environments. Required skills: - Experience with DBA and Application DBA roles in Oracle applications environments is a must. - Hands-on experience with Oracle RDBMS (10g preferable) is necessary. - Must have at least 10 years of experience with managing Oracle database environments including upgrades, patching, Oracle instance cloning, and maintenance tasks. - Excellent understanding of database concepts including roles, security, packages, triggers, database constraints, DDL, indexes, data dictionary. - Must have a strong understanding of data models and data modeling tools and techniques. - Must have experience with the different backup and restore techniques including RMAN. - Must have extensive hands-on experience with system administrator and Application DBA (AD) functions in Oracle apps. This should include direct experience with application and technology stack upgrades and patching. - Experience with Oracle apps release 12 is an advantage but the candidate must have at least worked extensively in release 11i environments. - Must have hands-on experience with trouble-shooting techniques and tools used in Oracle database and application environments. - Must have excellent knowledge of Oracle technology stack components including Apache/Jserv/Application Server (10gAS preferably), concurrent managers, and forms/reports servers. - Must have extensive experience with trouble-shooting performance issues. - Must have experience using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM). - Must have extensive experience configuring and tuning Oracle databases. - Must have expert knowledge of shell scripting. - Must have excellent knowledge of Unix/Linux, filesystems, storage. Must have working knowledge of networks. - Must have expertise in SQL and Oracle PL/SQL. - At least 8 years' experience in a Sr. DBA role with focus on environment architecture and design. - Hands-on experience with fast paced projects and upgrades - Knowledge of change management and version control processes is necessary. Desirable skills: - Familiarity with 11g and latest features is an advantage. - Experience with SAN and mirroring/sync-split processes is an advantage. - Experience with implementing fault tolerance and/or load balancing on the Oracle database layer, including direct experience with RAC implementation, is desired. - Experience with multi-node Oracle application environments and implementing load balancing and fault tolerance for Oracle apps is desired. - Experience with implementing security for Oracle apps including DMZ node is a plus. - Knowledge of Perl is an advantage. - Experience with MS SQL Server databases or running databases on Windows is a plus. - Familiarity with Oracle development tools is a plus. - Experience with databases for data warehouses, Hyperion, and/or OBIEE is an advantage. - Working knowledge of business processes is a plus. - Exposure to Sarbanes-Oxley processes and controls is an advantage. Communication skills, education: - Ability and desire to write detailed operational documentation. - Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and negotiation skills. - Must be a team player with a strong customer focus. - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS) or related field. Master's Degree in a related field is an advantage. - Oracle DBA certification is a distinct plus.
