We are currently recruiting highly qualified candidates, whose education, skills and experience meet our needs, for the following position in our Huntsville, AL facility. JOB TITLE: Sr. Programmer/Analyst The day to day responsibilities of this position will be focused around, but may not be limited to: . Designing, developing, modifying, debugging and evaluating functionality for manufacturing-related systems using Progress, Java, and other languages. . Designing and architecting new subsystems, including core functionality and system interoperability. . Providing leadership and guidance to a diverse group of developers with the goal of expanding our systems, and ultimately our company . Performing peer code reviews in Progress and Java . Assisting with development coordination . May train users in conversion and implementation of systems . Recommending changes in development, maintenance and system standards . Analyzing existing programs or formulating logic for new systems . Devising logic procedures . Preparing flow charts . Coding . Testing and debugging . Developing conversion and system implementation plans . Preparing and obtaining approval for system and programming documentation
To be considered for this position, a candidate will possess, and demonstrate, the following skills, education and experience: . BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related fields. . 5+ years experience working with Progress, Java, and other related skills in Unix/Linux. . Excellent verbal and written communication skills . Strong documentation skills are a must . Strong experience and skills in Object Oriented design . At least some exposure to Java is required . SOA architecture and OpenEdge web service implementation experience is a strong plus
