ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
oTechnical System Design (30%) oPartner with business contacts to understand business problems oPropose solutions to solve business issues oReview and understand project plans oPrepare detail design document oPrepare WBS for construction phase oDevelop prototype and/or proof of concept oConduct risk assessments oConduct design walk-thru oDetail estimated effort for low medium size projects oAssure accurate and thorough construction of assigned projects (40%) oPrepare weekly status summary reports oConstruct code oConduct unit, alpha, and beta testing oValidate and correct project defects oDocument code / work flow oConduct code review oSOX documentation oWrite user test cases for SOX compliance oDesign, implement, and monitor test plans oConduct tests leveraging test plans oCreate deployment documentation including change controls oUnderstand and articulate upstream and downstream affects of changes oAssist in the assembly and presentation of Delivery Assurance Review documents oAnalyze actual hours as compared to estimated hours and show progressive improvement/accuracy in estimations oRepresent technical team in project meetings oHave a good understanding of the data flow and integration between G&K systems oProvide support to G&K employees (30%) oIdentify, document and resolve application support issues oEnsures continuing operational quality by validating and documenting defect resolutions and enhancements, assigning tasks to developers, testing, and releasing updates oParticipate in rotation of 24/7 on-call support for current and new applications oProvide technical leadership to team members oProvide technical knowledge and training to end-users oProvide technical training to Support Analysts oTrain and mentor other team members oAssist in writing and review of end-user instructions oParticipate in weekly beeper rotation for evening and week-end support as assigned by manager oExecute and oversee production deployments, documenting outcomes oSpecial projects as assigned.
To be successful in this position, you should possess the following education, experiences, skills and qualifications: oBA / BS, in computer science or related field certification or equivalent experience: oThorough understanding of programming concepts o3+ years of development and data modeling experience using SYNON case tool in an iSeries environment utilizing SYNON CM oStrong demonstrated skills in the areas of oral and written communications oStrong SYNON required oStrong Knowledge of AS/400 (iSeries) required oWorking Knowledge of MS Office and MS Tools oWorking knowledge of MS Project oProven complex problem solving and analytical skills oTechnical awareness of ICF, XCOM, EDI, INFORMATICA and other methods of data movement is preferred. oTeam Player oAbility to effectively collaborate with peers and internal/external user communities oCreative thinker, open to idea exploration with strong problem solving skills oFlexible and responsive; able to perform in a fast paced and dynamic environment oPresentation skills for IT and Business audiences oDemonstrated leadership characteristics and behaviors
