Summary of Position: The Sr. QE Integration Engineer will be responsible for developing complex integrated automated testing scripts for enterprise class commercial software systems using HP?s Quality Center as a test automation management tool. This person will also be expected to create automated tests at the API level of the application, along with developing complex integration test plans. In addition, the Sr. QE Integration Engineer will be responsible for the execution of automated integration test cases, report on planned tests, manage defects and enhance the integration test automation inventory. Reports to the Director of Automation, Integration & tools. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Subject Matter Expert (SME) on automation using HP?s Quality Center tools. Lead the implementation of integration automated testing, maximizing reusability. * Develop an integration test strategy/plan for each assigned project. * Create and maintain automated integration testing scripts that enable and support data driven testing. * The ability to transfer API level automated scripts into functional automated testing scripts. * Automate configuration of installed software to minimize manual effort. * Manipulate low-level keyword driven script components. * Work to implement and improve documented standards, guidelines and best practices for integration testing.. * Develop new approaches and concepts to improve the depth and breadth for integration testing of our software. * Troubleshoot automated test failures and resolve issues encountered during test execution. * Work with the Director of Automation, Integration & Tools along with the QE Architect to achieve high quality, on-time deliverables, within budget. Education & Experience: * Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or information technology or equivalent experience. * At least 5-10+ years of QE integration testing or software development experience, which includes expertise and a proven track record with automated testing tools * Occasional travel will be required Technical Knowledge and Skills: * Proficient in Quality Assurance, testing methodologies, software development standards and designing automated tests at the API level * The ability to create integration tests for large complex software applications * Strong analytical & technical thinking across multiple product lines * Familiar with database platforms (i.e. Oracle, etc.) * Programming experience is preferred * Knowledge of developer unit testing and the various unit testing commercial software tools (ie. JUnit) * Well versed on object oriented development * Experience in working with Visual Studio * The ability to articulate and execute on a repeatable plan for an integration automated testing suite * Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of management and deal directly with the most technical software developers * The ability to deliver project milestones within budget and on time * Demonstrated track record of deep technical contribution along with expertise in the area of integration testing or software development * A solid working knowledge of the end-to-end SDLC and dependencies as it applies to formal testing * Solid hands-on experience with regards to developing automated integration testing scripts
