SUMMARY Urban Science is a company that is focused on leveraging data and logic to solve real world business problems. Urban Science leverages cutting edge analytics, proprietary software solutions, and years of industry experience to help our clients to create strategies and solutions that make their customers the focal point of their efforts. Two marquis proprietary software solutions that would be of interest to this Sr. Software Developer are the Enterprise Lead Solution (ELS) and Dealer Business Intelligence (DBI). Initially, this position is aligned with the ELS product, but could certainly get involved with the development efforts happening on the DBI product. ELS is an end-to-end lead management system that maximizes sales and return on investment (ROI). ELS is a full-suite solution that incorporates the following modules: lead acquisition, lead capture and distribution, lead qualification scoring, treatment assignment and lead reporting. ELS is designed to provide Automotive companies and their dealers with quality, timely leads that can be tracked through the sales process and ultimately to a closed sale. DBI is a web-based business management solution that provides dealers, manufacturers, and field staff with the financial reporting, analysis and forecasting tools required to make critical business decisions. The DBI product is an integrated system with an intuitive, streamlined interface that provides an opportunity for users to more effectively manage the performance of their representative organizations. This Sr. Software Developer will be responsible for software design and implementation. This individual will be seen as an expert in their field of technology and will have hands on development responsibilities along with leadership and mentoring responsibilities for more junior developers. Additionally, this resource will implement software designs and oversee the implementation of those designs by other members of the software development team. The job may require additional hours beyond the normal 40-hour workweek. This position will be based out of downtown Detroit and requires little out of town travel.
Responsibilities: 1. Programs and implements new functionality for the Urban Science software applications 2. Provides technical leadership including design, coding, code reviews, unit testing, and configuration/release management 3. Ability to utilize Technical Development software applications such as Visual Studio and SQL Server 4. Participates in the development of design specifications with other members of the software development team 5. Works with Practice Leadership and Business Analyst to identify client needs and ensure congruence with Technical Development capabilities 6. Performs quality testing in collaboration with Quality Services staff to identify and correct defects in the different Urban Science product offerings 7. Creates necessary technical documentation in support programming and design activities such as release notes, code comments, use cases, and training materials 8. Assists with the development and delivery of technical training on new applications and application updates 9. The ability to read and understand specifications and protocols 10. Ability to prioritize to competing demands, manage multiple concurrent tasks and adapt to changing priorities The ability to read and understand specifications and protocols 11. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES May participate in setting objectives, conducting performance appraisals, assigning and prioritizing work, establishing and maintaining quality, quantity and timeliness of work, coaching, mentoring, managing and motivating assigned Junior Software Developers and Software Developers.
