We are currently in search of a passionate Sr. Software Developer to develop the BSP, device drivers and system software on our innovative new mobile computing platform. Purpose: The Sr. Software Developer will define, design, implement, benchmark, and test the BSP, device drivers and system software. This position will have a strong focus on the GPS RIL. Principle Accountabilities:
* Creates and maintains system software for the control of various mobile platforms, especially GPS sub-systems * Responsible for the design, implementation, unit testing, and integration of solutions. * Responsible for compliance with project development working infrastructure including source control. * Work on a range of embedded operating system features, including kernel, drivers, GPS, GSM, CDMA, WiFi, RIL, performance and power optimizations, tools * Prototype OS proofs of concept and bring them up on new hardware / software combinations * Experiment with open source technologies where necessary * Interface with software and hardware teams across the organization to collaborate, develop, integrate advanced OS technology
Requirements
* BSCS, BSEE, or equivalent * Minimum 3-5 years of system software expertise in RIL and interfacing GPS devices or developing SW for GPS devices * Experience in Android preferred (BREW, EMP, VX Works, QNX, Symbian, or equivalent acceptable) * Expertise in understanding target debugging, and managing test & build environments. * Expertise with setting up and maintaining design tools (configuration management, source control, build management, automation and unit test tool harness, IDE, issue tracking system, collaboration system, etc.) * Expertise in C++ * Expertise in OpenGL-ES * Expertise in multimedia transport * Understanding of (and experience working with) design environments/techniques such as Test-Driven Development, Agile Development, Xtreme Programming, Object Oriented Design Headquartered in Singapore, Flextronics is a leading Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider focused on delivering complete design, engineering and manufacturing services to automotive, computing, consumer, industrial, infrastructure, medical and mobile OEMs. Flextronics helps customers design, build, ship, and service electronics products through a network of facilities in 30 countries on four continents.
