Summary: As a senior-level professional, the Senior Software Developer has a strong understanding of our systems and applications, and is competent to work on complex software projects, applies in-depth experience designing and developing applications and back end systems of an enterprise scale utilizing primarily, but not limited to, Microsoft-specific technologies and position participates in the design, development, unit testing, and documentation of software solutions, and acts independently, operating with only general direction. They may also act as technical and/or project lead over assigned staff. The qualified candidate works closely with the Product Manager, Quality Assurance, Configuration Management, Business Analysts, SMEs, and IT Operations to fully understand requirements and to ensure quality software is delivered to production systems on time, functions as designed, and is supportable. The person keeps the Project Manager and Dev Manager informed by regularly communicating progress and identifying orts to: Software Development ManagerEssential Roles and Responsibilities: Participate in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle Program in a variety of Microsoft .NET languages and technologies with emphasis in Object Oriented programming and design for both front-end and back-end development Support and update infrastructure for new releases as well as patches Provide support and technical guidance to the engineering team Possess the ability to take ownership of projects that require interaction with multiple teams Pay attention to detail and proactively assuring application usability and quality Follow through with individual and team-related tasks by monitoring their status through to completion Work closely with other engineers to ensure solutions support enterprise architectural goals Document and review software designs Develop code in compliance with design and requirements Participate in design and code review Perform thorough unit testing of application development Provide development support for analysis, functional testing and load testing Investigate complicated performance and stability issues involving a large, sophisticated, and evolving code base Recommend and champion new processes as well as process improvements Be a team player with independent contributor capabilities Keep the project manager and dev manager informed of task accomplishment, issues, risks and status Work well with geographically distributed teams Ability to work flexible hours? Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required: EDUCATION: BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience as noted below Experience: 5+ years Microsoft Windows software development experience utilizing C# and .Net in a SOA, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and internet security utilizing IIS 6. Additional experience with Web Services, XML, XSLT and CSS is beneficial Development Tools: Working knowledge and experience with C# and Microsoft .NET 3.5 Framework. Must have hands on experience working in .NET 3.5 and experience with language features such as Automatic Property, Object Initializer, Collection Initializer, Anonymous Types, Extension Methods, Var? key word, and DBML. Experience with LINQ to SQL features including Relationship Association, Delay/Lazy Loading, Change Tracking, Schema Validation, Custom Property Validation, Customer Entity Object Validation, Optimistic Concurrency, and AutoSync. Familiarity with C++, COM, COM+, ASP a plus. Experience with WCF features including ServiceContract, OperationContract, MessageContract, and DataContract. Experience with SQL Server 2005 (database programming T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Views, Table Variables, Pivot Tables, etc). Test/CM Tools: Experience with MbUnit, Subversion, and SVN a plus Decision-Making: Demonstrated ability to handle/organize multiple complex technical projects simultaneously Problem Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail, strong debugging experience and ability to troubleshoot software/hardware configuration problems Communication Skills: Strong oral, written and listening skills Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build positive business relationships and work in a collaborative environment with all levels of an organization.?
