BASIC
PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:
The senior software engineer is
responsible for the creation of software designs for complex
sub-systems within the product portfolio using design patterns. In
addition, the senior software engineer is responsible for
implementing complete sub-systems utilizing software development best
practices. The senior software engineer will also provide guidance to
junior developers via code and design reviews and should be able to
work independently.

OVERALL OUTPUTS, DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITES:
• Perform code reviews for software
engineers, associate software engineers, and peers
•
Creates and documents designs for new product features
•
Implements new features and defect fixes
• Task break down
including the definition and list of all tasks required to complete
assignments
• Provide estimates for feature implementation
and defects and their related tasks
• Development or
technical lead for new feature development, i.e. individual
responsible for all development tasks associated with a particular
feature
• Opportunities to present at engineering brown
bag sessions (presentations to engineering team on clinical,
technical, process, tools, etc. topics)


Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
BS or MS in Computer
Science or related degree

SKILLS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• 7+ years of experience in commercial software
development with a proven track record of delivering high quality
software projects on time
• 5+ years of experience in C++,
C#, or Java development
• 5+ years of experience with
Multi-Threaded Programming
• 5+ years of experience
implementing software solutions using Object Oriented Design and
Design Patterns
• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft
Development Platform
• Experience with client/server
development technologies
• Experience with web development
technologies (HTML, JavaScript, ASP, Web Services, etc.)
•
Excellent written and verbal communicational skills
•
Fluency in English

DESIRED SKILLS:
•
Experience with Healthcare informatics domain knowledge including:
DICOM, HL7, HIS, RIS, PACS, EMR, or medical imaging
•
Experience with Boost and STL
• Experience with WS and
REST web services

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be
able to lift up to 50 lbs. No unusual physical requirements

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Regular business hours are Monday through
Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours can vary and expand as dictated
by project demands.
