The succesful candidate will act as a subject matter expert for supporting Goodlink servers for the USCG enterprise environment. This includes preparing for installation up upgrades, adding services and servers, and act as an escalation point for issues beyond first responder's experience. This will requiring working with TISCOM engineers to ensure appropriate training and knowledge is transfered to the operational support group.
This is a technical position that requires very good customer service skills and flexibility and drive to perform in an intense working environment. Successful candidate must be able to follow standard procedures when troubleshooting in a complex network environment.
? Prioritize and proactively respond to and resolve end user help requests and operational mail problems in an Enterprise Management environment ? Ability to clearly translate technical issues in simple non-technical terms with excellent oral/written communication skills and a positive customer centric attitude ? Document all incidents and problems using Remedy Ticketing System ? Work with vendors to provide support and warranty replacements ? Administer Microsoft Windows Server 2000/2003 Active Directory Domain support for classified LAN/WAN systems and users ? Ability to perform system backups and restores on File/Print and Exchange servers ? Provide users with support on building systems with USCG developed O/S images
Provides installation, maintenance and troubleshooting support of voice, video, and/or data communications networks.
1. Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques. 2. Installs and configures network hardware and software. 3. Provides network troubleshooting and support. 4. Provides technical support and training to end-users. 5. Administers network security. 6. Backs up file server data/disks. 7. Provides complex server maintenance. 8. Sets up new users and deletes old users from the network. 9. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technicians, and may have limited supervisory responsibilities. 10. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. 11. Participates in special projects as required.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
