Job responsibilities include:

- Responsible for implementing and performing routine backups.
- Responsible for problem-solving any issues that might arise.
- Ensure that the OS for both servers and workstations is conforming to security standards as set by the Information Assurance Officer (IAO) or other DOD/DCGS defined security policies.
- Manage enterprise virus scanning software and updates where applicable.
- Manage user accounts for workstation/server access; work with the IAM/IAO to ensure that proper paperwork is on-hand for the accounts.
- Create and manage user directories on the workstations/servers.
- Perform workstation/server configuration management and documentation.
- Research software upgrades to workstations/servers for familiarity/keep up with current technological developments.
- Research new technologies for familiarity/keep up with current technological developments.
- Ensure maximum uptime is achieved and availability meets the standards set by the customer.
- Monitor workstations/server logs for errors and failures and perform appropriate troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Work with the developers and other system administrators to increase server and workstation efficiency.
- Train and mentor junior system administrators.
- Develop and document processes and procedures in conformance with ITIL practices.
- Take lead on system integration projects that arise.
- Provides technical expertise to customers, users or company personnel either at domestic or international field sites.
- Designs systems, software and equipment layout.
- Develops, implements, installs, tests, modifies and/or operates complex equipment and systems.
- Develops test plans and preventative maintenance programs.

Requires BS/BA degree. A Master's Degree from an accredited institute in an area applicable to this position (e.g., information systems, computer science, math, or engineering). An additional three years of relevant technical experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's Degree. An additional two years of relevant technical experience may be substituted for the Master's Degree. Strong SUN Solaris skills required. Knowledge of Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) a plus.

Requires 5-8 years experience. A minimum of five years of relevant technical experience in systems engineering activities such as the isolation and resolution of complex hardware and software problems involving the application, the operating system, the hardware, or any combination thereof. Shell scripting experience required

Applicants for this opportunity must have a US Government security clearance cleared for Top Secret information and granted access to sensitive compartmented information based on a Single Scope Background Investigation.

Candidate must possess a DOD 8570.1 directive tier2 or better certification or be willing to earn one within 3 months of hire date. Candidate must possess a SCSA Solaris 10 certification or be willing to earn one within 3 months of hire date.

Applicant must have comprehensive technical knowledge with strong communication skills (written & oral), and strong customer interface skills is a must. Ability to work a rotating shift schedule. Candidate must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
