Sr. SYSTEMS ANALYST - Biomedical Informatics
Title: Sr. SYSTEMS ANALYST - Biomedical Informatics Skills: Oracle databases (10g/11i) & Microsoft SQL Server (2005/2008) Database Programmer/Developer Date: 8-24-2010 Description: Cincinnati Children's Hospital is looking for a Sr. System Analyst. This individual will be responsible for managing the database that supports the research data warehouse as well as the BMI-hosted applications that feed the warehouse. Also work on maintaining the BMI side of the warehouse interfaces, would help set up new interfaces, and would work to extract, transform and load new data into the warehouse. This team is also responsible for providing data to investigators, so this individual will also help set up those tools. For the near future, this individual will also assist in providing data (via derived tables) from the hospital*s electronic medical record to researchers and clinicians. Major Duties: * Establish rules and procedures for cleaning, integrating and reconciling information from sources of clinical and research data. * Develop database reports or create views to satisfy user requests. * Create and monitor procedures to store, compile and parse messages from clinical data sources. * Create procedures to allow researchers to integrate their databases into the research data warehouse. * Help optimize and tune existing database queries. Skills: * At least 5 years experience with Oracle databases (10g/11i) required. * At least 3 years experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2005/2008) required. * Experience writing stored procedures required. * PL/SQL, T-SQL programming required. * Experience with ETL procedures required. * XML parsing/processing experience required. * Experience with Microsoft SQL Reporting Services, Analysis Services, and Integration Services required. * Data warehouse experience preferred. * Batch programming, Perl scripting experience preferred. Education: Minimum Bachelor*s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent.
