Sr Technical Program Manager - Retail Catalog
Amazon's Global Retail Catalog Tools team is responsible for developing innovative and user-friendly applications to help retail business owners to manage the worldwide retail catalog. Our large scale web applications running on distributed systems have direct and critical business impact. We are looking for an experienced, talented and hard-working Technical Program Manager who is passionate about delivering great customer experience, works directly with our businesses to improve and expand our retail selection, is able to dive deep into complex problems and works well in a team environment.
A successful candidate will need to have excellent problem solving and project management skills, great communication skills, strong ownership and the motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. As a TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, identify and mitigate project risks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. You need to:
1) manage communication with business owners and partner technical teams, 2) work with engineers and leaders to set technical direction, 3) oversee high-level process and software design, 4) coordinate projects and resources, 5) report on project progress and status, 6) assist in preparing and reporting the annual roadmap and periodically amending the roadmap projects to meet changing business needs.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field; or MBA degree
3+ years of experience in project, program, and/or product management.
1+ years of coding experience in Java, C++, and Perl
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills and listening skills. This will include the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, including non-technical.
The preferred candidate will have several of the following:
Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects.
Significant experience as a mentor within a technical organization.
Experience with Agile Management (SCRUM, RUP, XP) is preferred, Scrum Master is a plus.
