Documentation projects can include technical guides, user guides, online help, service support guides, release notes, service procedures, and assistance with white papers and technical notes. Responsibilities . Retrieves, organizes, analyzes, and synthesizes complex subject matter and transforms it into easy-to-understand information for specific user and technical audiences. . Independently plans, coordinates, and executes documentation projects with minimal to no supervision. . Represents the Technical Publications group on project teams and may perform technical project leadership roles, while fostering teamwork and collaboration within and across work groups. . May seek customer input and take responsibility for customer situations (internal and external customers). Skills/Experience . 5+ years experience producing user and system administrator documentation for software/hardware products. . Must have working knowledge of industry-standard tools like Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe RoboHelp, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Office, screen capture utilities, HTML, XML, UNIX/Linux commands. Wiki experience helpful. . Excellent technical writing skills, with a keen attention to detail and an ability to produce accurate, clean and crisp copy at the draft level. . Analytical, research, and interviewing skills, including project management skills. . Must have a basic understanding of networking protocols, client/server architecture, and system platforms. Knowledge of data storage technologies preferred. Knowledge of open source applications for version control and bug-tracking a plus. . Possess intellectual curiosity about technical products and systems; commitment to product knowledge. . Ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency; flexibility to accommodate changing priorities. . Ability to work within a global team environment. Education Required . B.A or B.S. . Technical Writing certification preferred . Technology training/technical courses
