This senior level professional position is responsible for creating technical documentation in various media (online, print) for large-scale complex technical software products used by the process industries.
Specifically, this position will provide customer documentation for the AspenTech Chemical Supply Chain product line.
The applicant will work as a member of a team of Technical Writers, Engineers and Software Developers and will fully participate in the software development process. Responsibilities:
* Responsible for planning, organizing, writing and editing a variety of technical documents such as help files, release notes, installation guides, and any additional reference manuals. * Gather technical information from planning documents, by interviewing subject-matter experts, and by using the software itself. * Interact with management, technical staff and other writers to gain understanding of software products and documentation tools. * Independently investigate and provide editorial solutions involving document content and document logic and flow. * Adhere to department templates, policies and standards. Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in Technical Communication, Professional Writing, English, Training, Computer Science, or Engineering. * At least 5 years experience in documenting technical software products. * Proven application of sharp analytic skills, excellent written communication, editing skills, and scrupulous attention to detail. * Proven use of successful interpersonal communication and collaboration skills. * Ability to meet tight deadlines. * Requires experience using MS Word, FrameMaker and Robohelp (or similar documentation tool).
