Sr. UI / UX Developer
Basic responsibilities ------------------------------ • Work with business and development teams to envision, create and validate user interfaces and experiences for multiple platforms (take designs from concept to finished art) • Identify user requirements and translate them into design solutions • Support development on multiple platforms by mapping workflows, user paths and wire frames and creating storyboards, mockups, and low and high fidelity prototypes • Create graphics, icons and other visual design elements that meet modern user interface guidelines and standards for use in our products • Evaluate designs using user-centered design techniques such as UI reviews and cognitive walkthroughs • Maintain an awareness of current trends in technology, design and usability • Participate in site audits and usability studies with final analysis and documentation • Lead web and graphic design projects as well as provide design support for other projects/team members. • Create UX deliverables (wireframes, workflows, prototypes, comps, etc.) • Develop and deliver front end-design assets that can be ""wired in"" 1. Create HTML and CSS for a given Photoshop UI design 2. Hook JQuery and Javascript to real data 3. Apply CSS to basic MVC views
Qualifications: -------------------- • BA or BS in a creative or technical field, or equivalent experience as demonstrated by portfolio • 5+ years previous UI experience; portfolio showcasing a history of complex web interfaces and strong graphic design capabilities • Strong intuition for effective Web 2.0 style of user interfaces, focusing on uncluttered responsive design, smart navigation and SEO-friendly content • Mastery of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or Fireworks. Previous experience with a Rapid Prototyping software (strong plus) (We use Axure) • Familiarity with Telerik, Scriptacular, JSLib, jQuery, etc. • Previous exposure to A/B testing or MV testing for optimizing web interfaces. • Experienced with popular user feedback techniques (e.g. surveys, focus groups, 1:1 interviews, lab testing) • 4+ years experience working with and resolving cross-browser compatibility issues • Hands-on experience doing widgets mash-ups, such as Google Maps, Flickr Photo Widget, or similar. • Front-end optimization experience • Experience with debugging tools such as Firebug
