Sr. UNIX Operations Engineer Needed in Austin! Kelly IT Resources is working with a local premier employer on a Sr. Unix Operations Engineer direct hire opportunity. In this position you will be responsible for investigating existing CRONs, reporting scripts (PHP, Perl, Shell, etc), troubleshooting DB query processes, building and maintaining new tools to enhance existing process automation, monitoring and daily operational infrastructure. Responsibilities include: * Develop, test, debug and integrate systems tools and other solutions * Influence systems designs, identify and deliver IT/Ops requirements for projects and initiatives * Improve and maintain existing process automation, ability to test for accuracy * Work with other operations teams to build out new requirements/updates for toolsets * Author and maintain specifications, diagrams and other documentation Requirements include: * MUST be a proven UNIX Engineer with excellent coding and communications skills and the desire to automate infrastructure and application management * 5+ years of experience in UNIX/Linux, scripting and administration * 5+ years profession experience developing code to automate operational tasks (Perl/PHP/BASH/Shell, Python, etc) * Solid understanding of networking infrastructure and technologies * Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Xen, etc) * In-depth MySQL knowledge, queries, administration experience * Experience using developer tools such as SVN, Eclipse, Bugzilla * Must be flexible and responsive to changing priorities For immediate consideration please click the ""Apply Now"" button.
