Posting Job Description Qualifications: - General Expectations
o Proficient at writing code. Consistently meet or exceed deadlines on programming projects. Scoping of projects. Assist in maintaining operational queue. Clear upward communication to Seniors, Leads, Chiefs and Management. Research new technologies; provide ideas for technical or workflow / process improvements.
o Attend scope meetings, review scopes for estimate accuracy and technical correctness.
o Mentor Web Developers on technical issues and best practices.
o Demonstrate ability to balance own technical work with mentoring role.
o Assume "Tech Lead" roles on projects for which he/she is not active developer. (Tech Lead = guidance (coding, systems), communication, see below.)
o Consistently meet or exceed deadlines on programming projects.
o Regularly provide new technical ideas and process/workflow improvements to Lead/Chief Developers and Management Team.
o Research new technologies; provide ideas for technical or workflow / process improvements.
- Skills important to success: Advanced HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, Flash, XML, XSLT, PERL, Java, JSP, UNIX shell scripting and a strong foundation in enterprise level Internet technologies
- College degree required. At least 5-7 years of previous experience building web sites is required. Experience with a large-scale web site is a plus. Expertise in HTML, JavaScript and CSS is required, and experience with DHTML, PERL, PHP, CGI and Flash is preferred. Candidates must provide samples of work. WYSIWYG editors are not used.
- Candidate must show an aptitude for detail. They should display leadership skills such as taking proper responsibility, pursuing solutions to problem, displaying resourcefulness towards accomplishing given task or goals. They must exhibit an ability to focus on mundane functions of their job, as well as being self-motivated to learn new skills in order to accomplish new tasks.

Duties: - The Senior Web Developer is focused on writing templates, scripts and other processes that produce content for Turner Digital Media Technologies web sites as well as syndication for these sites. Senior Web Developers have a solid knowledge of the various web technologies used to produce content, and leverage this knowledge to ensure that code is written according to industry best practices. Senior Web Developers have specific technical expertise and exceptional personal initiative that they regularly share with the group.
- Senior Web Developer assists in leading the development of Turner Internet Technologies standards and giving direction to Web Development and Operations. They give direction to Web Operations (Webmasters) in regards to web development standards and best practices.
- Works as project team member to develop Internet and Intranet Web applications, as well as syndication feeds. Web development tasks include coding, testing, debugging, documenting, peer-reviewing, deploying, monitoring, and support. All tasks are performed in accordance with industry best practices and specific internal procedures and standards.
- They participate in workflow design and analyze existing production and implementation processes in order to ensure the overall quality of the sites.
- Works with internal departments to provide associated deliverables required for the successful completion of development and maintenance assignments (e.g. business development, database development, web designers, end-user training).
- Maintenance and support of existing templates and content production processes - this assures that our processes are functioning correctly.
- Spends time learning new skills and enhancing existing ones.
- Contributes to task identification, work effort estimates, and work schedules for development and maintenance activities
