The Senior Writer Analyst is responsible for developing accurate, timely materials for Business Owner's Toolkit (), Wolters Kluwer's premier small business online resource.
. Research complex new developments and produce easy-to-understand explanatory material on issues affecting the small business market.
. Demonstrate knowledge of small business developments and an ability to explain complex concepts in a plain, clear and simple manner, whether in print, online, during interviews or in face-to-face demonstrations.
. Demonstrate an intimate familiarity with the workflows, needs and trends of small business community and an ability to recognize the practical applications of Toolkit content to those workflows, needs and trends.
. Identify ways to relate products more closely to small business workflows and needs.
. Demonstrate an ability to translate those needs to product enhancements or new product ideas, whether in print, online or for demonstration purposes, and then to promote the content and create an engaged community of members using social media tools
. Become internally and externally recognized content and social media expert for Business Owner's Toolkit and BizFilings.
. Act as a media spokesperson for topics related to small business.
. Work with Publisher/Managing Editor, authors, editors and/or other designated staff to resolve content issues as needed. May be called upon to research, answer and document customer support requests dealing with editorial content.
. Identify potential curriculums and gaps in Business Owner's Toolkit portfolio of products. Participate in acquisition or development of that content. Promote that content to a community of Toolkit members through online and social media
. Conduct competitive research and provide competitive comparisons and proofs of superiority for small business products.
. Demonstrate high-level writing, analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
. Demonstrate high-level computer skills and familiarity with technology.
. Provide customer support, respond to customer inquiries, and use customer feedback to identify product enhancements or new product opportunities.
. Work with marketing department to help further and support product strategy.
. Ensure all social media sites and profiles are kept fresh and current. Implement updates of all outside sites/profiles that require technical skill to post updates. (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
. Track and analyze results of content and propose improvements based on data findings.
. Conceive, write, edit, proofread, revise, and produce materials including but not limited to:
o Web content, articles and white papers geared to entrepreneurs and small business owners
o Webinars
o Blogs
o Newsletters
o Social channels including Business Owners Toolkit LinkedIn group, Facebook and Twitter channels, etc.
o Online community building
Qualifications: Education & Experience:
. Bachelor's degree (possibly in Journalism) at a minimum, Master's preferred, or equivalent experience
. 5+ years of writing experience, preferably small business related.
Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:
. Must have knowledge of broad range of issues affecting small business.
. Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
. Social media, blogging and online community-building skills.
. Basic knowledge of SEO and link building a plus.
. Ability to work with a content management system a plus.
. Ability to create customer-focused copy that achieves results and maintains the brand voice.
. Must have strong technical skills.
. Must be analytical.
. Must be flexible and responsive to change
. Must be able to work independently and within a team environment.
