The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of technical and functional designs for Database, Data Warehousing, ETL, Reporting, and Data Mining areas.
Responsibilities include: . Leverage homegrown ETL framework as well as off-the-shelf ETL tools when appropriate and work closely with engineering team to design and maintain the necessary data models as the site evolves . Provide technical recommendations for optimized data access and retention for the data warehouse . Define areas of improvement to optimize data flows . Identify strategy for data acquisition and archival . Prepare technical design and specifications, develop routine for data loading and extraction, and develop metadata required for the Data Warehouse . Implement Map Reduce jobs for complex data processing tasks . Responsible for assessing the value of new data sources, data elements and alternative modeling approaches . Write SQL queries to develop data sets in response to queries from internal and external customers. Help other parts of business to understand data . Provide support on data quality components during the implementation of the solution architecture. Ensure accuracy of results produced as a result of data analysis . Design and implement custom analytics solutions under tight deadlines to specification . Produce ad-hoc and regular metrics and reports according to requirements. . Serve as the team lead for all analytical initiatives
Your Talents: . Minimum of 4 years of experience in ETL and or Data Warehouse development and design . Experience managing, architecting, or designing large-scale enterprise data warehouses or data marts . 3-5 years of Java development with focus on data processing and business analytics . Ability to analyze and troubleshoot issues in complex applications environment and distributed systems handling extremely large amounts of data . Good knowledge of scripting languages, should be able to automate repetitive part of data analysis with ease . Experience working with reporting tools, for example Business Object, Crystal Reports . Expert level with developing custom homegrown ETL . Expert understanding of ETL techniques and best practices . Experience with best practice Data warehousing architecture and models . BS degree in computer science/math/statistics . Knowledge of Hadoop, HBase and Hive preferred . Experience with Banking OR Financial Services a plus
