Job Description: Cisco's Value Chain Intelligence (VCI) team is responsible for performance management, business analytics and supply chain collaboration to support Cisco's Customer Value Chain Management (CVCM) organization.
Currently we are seeking an experienced Statistician/Data Modeler with proven leadership applying advanced analytics models to drive business decisions.
The successful candidate will work with business and process owners as well as Value Chain Intelligence team members to provide deep analysis and guidance on crucial business opportunities across the areas of the customer value chain. They will draw upon their knowledge and experience in applied statistics, data mining, modeling, and forecasting to ensure that results are accurate and clear, providing actionable opportunities for business leaders.
In particular, this person will be responsible for developing predictive models for CVCM's key performance indicators and complementary methodologies to ensure that the set of KPIs is effectively driving strategy-execution alignment in the customer value chain.
The directions and recommendations made through this position will have profound impact on the entire CVCM organization. The successful candidate will have significant ability to apply analytic techniques to solve real world problems, providing actionable information to business leaders.
Primary Responsibilities . Collect data for ad-hoc and statistical analysis . Clean data in preparation for analysis and modeling . Perform statistical summaries and tests for relevant business questions . Develop predictive statistical, behavioral and other models . Perform statistical testing to enhance the predictability of deployed models . Deploy applicable models for business use . Summarize conclusions and solutions for presentation . Develop strong relationships with subject matter experts
Required Qualifications . Hands-on experience in analyzing large and complex datasets to inform business decisions in a corporate environment . Considerable experience with statistical tools (e.g. SAS, SPSS, Minitab, R) and methods to incorporate statistical results into analyses . Experience with data modeling and forecasting . Working knowledge of standard querying with SQL . Exposure to data mining tools and techniques . Excellent communication and collaboration skills . Must be a strong self-starter and able to work well independently
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE: Relevant experience in Supply Chain Management preferred, knowledge of electronics, high tech, or CPG/retail industry desirable; prior experience in Operations Research, Financial Analysis and Performance Management a plus.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 5-7 years
MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATION: MS/MBA in a quantitative field required, PhD preferred
