Standard & Poors is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Application Support Analyst to provide quality technical end user support for the Standard & Poors Enterprise Data eXchange file delivery platform. This role will have responsibility for providing application support to internal business users and external clients, assisting them with issues via phone, email or fax. The right candidate will be a creative, self-motivated individual with drive and excellent interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
Resolve technical support cases, research reported problems and document solutions
Troubleshoot system, application, and network configurations
Generate ad-hoc reports as requested by business users
Self motivated and self driven to ensure that all issues are resolved within specified SLA timeframes
Escalate non-resolvable issues to the appropriate groups (Development, DBA, Systems Engineering, etc)
Effectively interact with customers, business users, QA, and IT staff
Perform periodic system health checks to avoid potential outages
Proactively address system capacity issues
Complete, maintain, and process pertinent paperwork and records related to support case management and software change requests
In depth experience supporting Sterling Commerces Gentran Integration Suite, Sterling Integrator or similar managed file transfer platform
Overall 4+ years of IT experience and at least three years of experience as a Technical Support Analyst responsible for providing support for mid to large-sized applications in the financial industry
Knowledge of FTP, S/FTP, FTP/S and HTTP/HTTPS file transfer protocols
Unix/Linux, Oracle, JDBC, and SQL skills
Knowledge of Java technologies including J2EE and leading application servers
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering is required, or in lieu, a demonstrated equivalence in work experience
Excellent communication skills are essential, with strong verbal and writing proficiencies
Strong customer service orientation and desire to embrace technology as a means of improving service
Must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills
